Shannon McKewen

Shannon has a Diploma in Teaching and a Bachelor of Design and Visual Communications/Painting. She is interested in portrait drawing from an historic perspective.

Shannon is a certificated teacher with 20 years professional teaching experience, internationally & locally. At Toi Ora Live Art Trust, Shannon tutors the life drawing class and facilitates A Sense of Place, monthly gallery tours with a focus on New Zealand Art. The groups visit exhibitions, galleries and places of interest once a month. All tours are well advertised ahead of time.

The life drawing class has been running for some time and it provides a harmonious, co-operative and motivated environment in which to draw. A model is provided and various media are used. Drawing techniques are taught as well as some art history.
