Nikki Dixon

One of the creative team at Toi Ora for the last few years, Nikki has shown works in a number of Auckland city galleries including Wall in Ponsonby, Satellite and The Depot in Devonport.

Nikki feels very much at home in the vibrant Auckland art world of which she is very much a part. From her early days Nikki had a passion for the artistic having put her hand and many talents to work in a number of fields from patchwork, tie dying, screen printing, fabric painting, drawing, photography, shadow art, lead lighting and mosaics.

Before returning to Auckland where she met Bic Runger, Nikki was part of the Queenstown scene for over seven years where she met many celebrities like Sam Neil and Tim Shadbolt, but the highlight was a couple of nights waitressing for Bono and the U2 crew and a big hug from The Edge who invited her to watch them all bungi jumping. Nikki’s outdoor pursuits include parachuting, paraponting, river rafting, river surfing, jet boating, bungi jumping, mountain biking, and of course skiing. Mt Hutt, Coronet Peak and the Remarkables were few of her  favourite spots.

Nikki studied classical guitar for a few years under a Trinity tutor that extended her love of music. A patient and fun loving member of the team Nikki enjoys company, socializing and listening to music. Her more recent accomplishments have focused on a number of sought after mosaic pieces from tiles to coffee table tops.
